Big Ride (and walk) 2pm Saturday 29th April
Join our family-friendly ride on Saturday 29th April to call for:
Clean Air
Healthy Streets
and More Cycleways
from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, the Mayoral candidates and our Local Authorities.
We’ll depart from Platt Fields at 2pm and head into the city-centre along Oxford Road’s new cycleway, then a return ride will arrive back at Platt Fields by 4pm.
There will be feeder rides from both directions on the Fallowfield Loop – check back here later for further details and please get in touch if you’re able to help with these or other feeder rides.
We’ll meet by the lake with a Dr Bike workshop from 11am to help with any minor adjustments your bike may need, and to share cycling and maintenance tips.
We’ll be riding at a child-friendly pace and people are welcome to walk alongside too, or if you fancy a shorter walk (or ride) then why not join us at All Saints Park at 2.30pm.
We’ll deliver the petition and a letter calling for action to the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Manchester City Council, then send copies to TfGM and the other nine GM Local Authorities. We’ll also seek specific commitments from the Mayoral candidates. To help us draft the letter and commitments people are welcome to attend our workshop on 29th March.
