Social Ride to Clifton & Ringley 18th Aug 2016
GMCC’s next social ride is on Thursday 18th August, meet in Albert Square from 5.30pm for a 6pm departure.
Ride from Manchester city centre…
This month we’re heading to Clifton Country Park then visiting the The Horseshoe Inn, for sustenance, liquid refreshments and plenty of cycling chat!
Rob’s description: “An annual favourite, this ride goes from Albert Square via NCN Route 6 and the Irwell Valley (including the Sculpture Park and mountain bike trails) to Clifton Country Park and the Horseshoe Inn at Ringley, which has real ales, food and a nice garden if the weather’s nice. We can go via some single track trails on the way there and back down the nicely tarmacked Route 6 on the way back. Or we can go up Route 6 and return via the ‘devilish’ hill to the A666 and whizz downhill back through Salford. Not ideal for skinny tyres or fixies, but manageable. Lights essential, waterproofs maybe, positive mental attitude a bonus :-)”
No need to join or sign up, just turn up and ride.
We ride at a gentle pace with a ride leader and back marker.
The rides are organised by our social secretary Rob Raikes – raikes[at]gmail.com
This is the fourth of seven GMCC social rides in 2016.
