Bolton Bury Greenway
Some years ago Sustrans acquired part of the trackbed of the disused Bolton-Bury railway from the former British Rail Property Board, along with leases on two major viaducts at Darcy Lever and Burnden. This was to help with, and to encourage the councils in developing a greenway between the two towns as part of the National Cycle Network. Bolton has now identified some funding through LSTF and Sustrans will be discussing scheme details shortly.
